Cadenza, a best-in-class office building in the heart of Dublin, was announced as a winner at the 2024 Fit Out Awards, picking up the award for ‘Fit Out Project of the Year – Medium Office’.
This incredible Henry J Lyons-designed scheme for Irish Life comprises a six-storey building punctuated by a unique façade, all set above a lower ground floor and basement level. With sustainability central to the design, the project targeted LEED Platinum certification, and includes a deep stone veil and stone fins to the street frontages to create shading, in addition to a green wall with deep recessed glazing to its rear façade. Major emphasis was placed on buildability, and the development incorporates challenging interfaces with both an existing apartment complex and adjoining listed buildings on its Earlsfort Terrace side. Successfully delivered against a backdrop of significant disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Cadenza is an outstanding example of what can be achieved when a project team takes a truly collaborative multidisciplinary approach. Our team provided civil and structural engineering consultancy services for the development and supported the fit-out team as well.
