The existing Ballymun Recreation Centre was renovated, extended and upgraded to provide improved neighbourhood centre facilities for the local community.
Waterman Moylan was appointed as Area Engineer for the Sillogue / Sandyhill sector of the ambitious Ballymun Regeneration project, providing civil and structural engineering consultancy services for a number of residential, leisure and environmental schemes.
The new extension includes a reception, gymnasium, computer training rooms, crèche with indoor/outdoor play area, meeting rooms, offices and storage facilities, further to an enclosed and protected courtyard. There was also the inclusion of external five-a-side football, basketball and playground areas.
Simultaneously with this project, our team provided civil and structural engineering services on two social housing projects of 30 and 60 units respectively, and an environmental upgrading works project in close proximity to the Recreation Centre.
