We are delighted that our projects, 10-12 Hanover Quay, Cadenza and Woodside Social and Affordable Residential Development, have been nominated under five categories at the upcoming Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Awards.
The Awards recognise excellence in Ireland’s contracting sector, rewarding companies who strive to move the industry forward across a wide range of categories.
10-12 Hanover Quay – Award category: ‘Fit Out or Refurbishment Over €30m’
This challenging project involved the removal of existing building elements and the conservation and underpinning of historical structures in a site subject to tidal influences from the River Liffey and adjacent to the Grand Canal Dock.
The overall development consists of a new five-storey steel frame building, providing just over 6,800 sqm of Grade A office space, together with the restoration and conversion of an historic quayside warehouse to provide a basement and two upper floors also for office use.
Waterman Moylan was the Project Supervisor Design Process for the scheme, contributing to a safe and successful delivery of this exceptional development.
Cadenza – Three award categories: Main project shortlisted for ‘Commercial €10m to €60m’ and ‘Specialist or Specialist Services Contract over €2m’, Bulk Excavation shortlisted for ‘Specialist or Specialist Services Contract – €1m to €2m’
Located on Dublin’s Earlsfort Terrace, this 16,583 sqm commercial development comprises a six-storey office building above a lower ground floor and a single level basement.
With sustainability central to the design, the project is targeting LEED Platinum certification, and includes a deep stone veil and stone fins to the street frontages to create shading, also incorporating a green wall with deep recessed glazing to its rear façade. Emphasis was placed on constructability, as the development incorporates an existing apartment complex and adjoins listed buildings on its Earlsfort Terrace side.
Our team provided civil and structural engineering consultancy services for the development.
Woodside Social and Affordable Residential Development – Award category: Social & Affordable Housing Over €5m
A collaboration between Respond and Tuath Approved Housing Bodies, the Woodside development includes the first purpose-built cost-rental homes in Ireland. Offering 50 cost-rental homes as part of an overall development of 155
social and affordable homes, this scheme also incorporates a community facility, along with a variety of green spaces.
The homes on offer in the wider development include a blend of one-, two- and three-bedroom properties, whilst the 50 cost-rental homes are two-bedroom apartments.
Our team provided multidisciplinary support for the scheme, spanning civil, structural and building services engineering.
